As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. ~Ecclesiastes 11:5

It’s a…GIRL!

When those wonderful words were uttered, the recent three months of pain and suffering with severe nausea plus vomiting wholly dissipated.

God is beyond good and HIS plans are perfect.

We were not planning to have more children. According to our plans we were done—finito! Clearly God must have had a good laugh when He saw our thoughts.

It was a Saturday afternoon and I came across a picture book titled God’s Wisdom For Little Girls by Elizabeth and Jim George I felt an enormously overwhelming need to get it. I held it close to my heart but couldn’t help and think, “Why am I getting this book if I don’t even have a daughter?” A force stronger than my doubt convinced me to get it.

Flash forward to Sunday morning—the boys and I barely arrived on time to the youth church service since I was running my circus solo. My hubby was traveling and he is my right hand in wrangling our rambunctious little men into suits, ties and oxfords. The word that morning was Ecclesiastes 11 and when verse 5 was read I felt God confirming.

As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

“No, God! I can’t be! It’s impossible!” That’s all my mind kept uttering at that moment, but then the image of the book popped up. I must have looked like the moose from the movie Peter Rabbit. “Headlights!”

For days I strived to forget about it but couldn’t. My monthly “red friend” also hadn’t made its debut. I’m NEVER late. Wednesday I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. I remember the boys embracing me and the three of us praying after I told them the news.

My eldest son wrote me this.

My hubby was out of town for work. I called him and he was left speechless. You see—my husband always has something to say but God do I love that man.

I never told anyone but my hubby about the details of the book and the word God sent. I wanted to wait for confirmation of the gender. How great thou art Lord!

Baby Abby (Abigail) is expected to make her arrival on April 5, 2019.
